F.I.C.O. Wellness Club
The project acts as a hub for discovering the treasures of nature as the foundation for the care and well-being of the body. The well-being is achieved through water: Salus per aquam. In this sense the project idea was born from the interweaving of the physical and natural transition from the soil, passing through the water to get to the air, with the passage of purification from what is ground to elevate and lighten your own “soul” up to reach the ethereal. These transitional phases are those advocated in a spa, where the incoming user is tense and absorbed from the concerns and worldly affairs, and only through the path of purification he can get rid of these burdens. In contrast to the industrial location, the spa is surrounded by green areas designed specifically, in order to mark the desire of sustainability and eco-compatibility. In fact, along the route are several green islands, defined by aggregation of evergreens and deciduous, united for optimal exposure, but which differ in color and period of flowering, so you never have completely bare and monochrome areas during the year. Further along the basins of the outdoor pools was investigated aromachromotherapy given by the arrangement of herbs and plants/bushes in varied flowering.
The building is covered by a white and perforeted skin. The skin is made up of panels, 1.5 x 3 meters, that are prefabricated, self-supporting and made of biocomposites materials. The biocomposites are produced by the combination of natural fibers such as flax, hemp and jute, and natural resins made from residues of the production of crops such as corn and sugar cane. The biocomposites can reduce “embodied energy” than other traditional building materials, without raising costs.
